Course Information
The sixth-grade social studies curriculum consists of content area that includes World History and Geography. The primary content for this course pertains to the world’s earliest civilizations of Ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Africa, Asia, Greece, Rome, and the Early Americas. Students will be exposed to the multiple dynamics of world history including amazing people and events, as well the economics, geography, politics, religion/philosophy of these civilizations. Students will recognize the important contributions of these civilizations and what role they played in shaping our modern world. Students will study methods of historical inquiry, and primary and secondary historical documents.
